(Acts 6:1-5) Philip was a faithful Christian and served as a deacon, becoming the model of someone whom God can use.
Three marks made Philip usable: being in the family of God, living a faithful life of integrity (an “honest report”), and being filled with the Holy Spirit, which produces wisdom and power. God is looking for usable people – people who are yielded and surrendered to Christ.
Examine your own faith, commitment, and Spirit-filled walk; understand that true service begins with who you are, not just what you do; and embrace the call to advance the gospel.
