Evangelist Scott Pauley
Scott Pauley was raised in the mountains of West Virginia. He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior while a young man. At twelve years old, God called him to be a preacher. Scott attended Crown College in Powell, Tennessee. He and Tammy met there and were married in 1997. They have three grown children and recently became “Papa” and “Nana.” The Pauley’s have served the Lord together in local church ministry and evangelism for over 25 years.
Dr. Pauley travels full time in evangelism. His passion is to preach the Gospel, and his burden is to influence this generation for Christ. They love coffee and spending time with family. Scott and Tammy make their home in the mountains of West Virginia.

“Friends and Mentors”
Bob and Betty Crichton The Lord brings people into your life at just the right time and for many reasons. At certain junctures on the journey, He allows individuals to cross your path to help you find direction. Several years ago when I was serving at the Temple Baptist Church and Crown College, God providentially brought Bob Crichton to serve on our staff. He was a long-time, personal friend of Pastor Sexton and he quickly became a dear friend and…
Read More“A Spiritual Father”
Roger and Marcia Pauley It was Dr. Frank Sells who first used the term “spiritual father” in my hearing. I was a young student when I came to understand that there are men used of God to nurture and guide the next generation. Paul understood this principle. He wrote to the church at Corinth, “For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel”…

Chase and Joy Whitten Some people have a God-given restlessness. They are not discontent, they are hungry for more. It is this type of restlessness that has spurred missionary pioneers to the ends of the earth. If you have every met one of these great souls, you know it. They are always charging another hill and preparing for the next work. My friend, Chase Whitten has this spirit. Chase grew up in West Virginia and as a young man was…

Journey Through Acts Overview: Some people have called it, the Fifth Gospel. It is called in our New Testament, the Book of Acts. Most think they are the acts of the Apostles; in reality, they are the acts of God, through the Apostles. It is the book of Christ continuing His work in this world through the early New Testament Church, by the Holy Spirit. The Book of Acts is a sequel to the Gospel of Luke. Listen to An…

Kimberly Wesdyk We were only a couple of years into evangelism and I was overwhelmed with the pace of it all. In fact, I was drowning in correspondence and travel requests when my friend Scott Hooks called. “Do you need any help?” I laughed. Yes, more than I could explain. A kind member of his church had come in to express her interest in serving the Lord in some way. Kimberly Wesdyk works as a law clerk, and with her…
Read More“A Certain Disciple Was There”
Micah and Ana Hendry It has always interested me that as Paul traveled preaching the gospel the Lord allowed people to cross his path at just the right time. He sets divine appointments for His servants. On Paul’s second missionary journey, he came into Iconium, Derbe, and Lystra. It was here that he would meet the young man who would become his assistant in the work of the gospel, the young man whose name is found in two inspired letters…
Read MoreJourney Through Ezra
We are journeying through the little book of Ezra. And what an amazing book it is. Ezra is a very short book, a brief book, and it picks up exactly where II Chronicles leaves off. It is one of the Post-Exile books. There are some double books in the Old Testament. For example: I and II Samuel, I and II Kings, I and II Chronicles. Originally the books of Ezra and Nehemiah were viewed as one book, and they were…
Read More“My First Volunteer”
Stephen: “My First Volunteer” The best team mates are the ones who join because they want to. In the ministry, there is no such thing as a “draft” – God only has volunteers. The Lord has no “hired servants.” His servants serve Him because they love Him! Stephen Troell was living and laboring in Ammon, Jordan by the time I went into evangelism. He was one of the first to reach out to me after I made public my decision.…
Read MoreMy Word for 2025
My Word for 2025 Words matter, and there are no words like the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit calls them “wholesome words” (1 Timothy 6:3). As a new year begins it is not unusual to hear people wish one another a healthy and prosperous new year. There is a spiritual health and prosperity that is found only in the pages of Scripture. The two-edged sword wounds and makes whole – the Bible has the power to…

Scott and Tammy Pauley Our journey in evangelism started at the first of the year and in the middle of winter. On that cold Sunday morning, January 3, 2016, I preached from Psalm 23 on “He Leadeth Me.” Now, as we begin our 10th year in full-time evangelism, I can tell you that our faithful Shepherd is continuing to lead us. When we left the ministry at the Temple Baptist Church and Crown College to follow God’s leading, Pastor Sexton…

Overview: The Creator God is the God of new beginnings. In Genesis, we meet the Lord who is able to speak and bring light out of darkness, perfection out of emptiness, and order out of chaos. He is the Creator of all. To know our Creator in a greater way, let’s journey through Genesis. Listen to an Overview of Genesis: Journeying Through Genesis “In the beginning. God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). If you are going to…
Read MoreNew Attitudes for the New Year
New Attitudes for the New Year It was early morning when dad came into my room and placed something on the dresser. As a junior high boy I was intrigued enough to get myself out of bed to investigate what he had left. Maybe it was money! Instead, what I discovered was a one word sticker attached to the mirror: ATTITUDE I must confess that I often despised that sticker! The adhesive was so strong that it stayed on the…
Read More4 Marks of A Christian Christmas
4 Marks of a Christian Christmas E.B. White, the author of Charlotte’s Web, said over fifty years ago, “To perceive Christmas through its wrappings has become more difficult with every year.” Indeed, it is possible for Christians to observe Christmas and not have a truly Christian Christmas. It is a redundancy for sure, but in our increasingly secular and self-centered age, it is a necessary one. The first part of the word Christian and the word Christmas is Christ – He who…

A Full Life Robert Murray M’Cheyne was one of the rare souls who was allowed to live and labor only a few years, but his influence has had a profound impact on believers for generations. Born in Scotland in 1813, he would die before his 30th birthday. Yet there was an eternity of reward wrapped up in that short life. Many people talk about wanting to live “a full life.” It is one thing to have a life full of…

The Power of the Tongue “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21). This world has known the power of liberty, the power of industry, the power of energy, and the power of the printed page. But there is a power that exceeds them all – the power of the tongue. The power of good and the power of evil come through our words. Scripture speaks…
Read MoreThe Luggage of Life
It is my privilege to do a great deal of travel. Through the years I have learned it is best to travel light. Luggage slows you down and weighs you down. Especially on airplanes! The journey is much more enjoyable with as little baggage as possible. This principle is true in all of life. Getting Past Your Past The Apostle Paul wrote, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which…

Like so many of you, we are excited about spending some time with those we love over the next few weeks. As we grow older and more of our family and friends go to Heaven, the more we treasure seasons together with one another. Make the most of every opportunity to be with your family and church family. These are busy days and schedules are often crazy in the closing weeks of the year. Time in the Word and moments…

Right On Time We live in time. 60 minutes an hour. 24 hours a day. 7 days a week. 52 weeks a year. For as many years as God chooses to grant us. But our God is not bound by time. He is eternal and time is in Him. Often time seems to move slowly, especially when we are living in the middle of uncomfortable circumstances. It is then that we must remember that God is a God of perfect…
Read MoreAre You A Storyteller?
Life is a story. Moses wrote in the oldest Psalm, “We spend our years as a tale that is told” (Psalm 90:9). Perhaps that is why people around the world love to hear a good story – in some way, we can all identify. We weep at tragedies, laugh at comedies, and thrill at adventures. The ancients passed along truth through story telling, and Scripture is full of historical and biographical accounts given as examples of God’s truth. When Christ…

Do You Have Questions? The first recorded question in Scripture was whispered by Satan, “Yea, hath God said?” It was he who knew truth and willingly rejected it, that first inserted uncertainty and chaos into God’s perfect creation. As sin came, the questions grew. Light disobeyed became darkness – a constant reminder that when man rejects truth He can only believe lies and plunge deeper into ignorance. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). He is truth…

The following article was written by Scott Pauley for the God Bless America Magazine. If you have not read this vital work, please do so HERE. As we approach the election, God’s people are seeking to find His direction. This edition of the magazine will help you think Biblically about our nation and our responsibility. It Is Time For Some Good News! Civilizations crumble and cultures corrode, not because of political or economic issues, but because of spiritual ones. Sin destroys everything…

An Hour Of Prayer These are days of great spiritual need in our nation. Only revival can bring lasting change and only God can bring revival. It is prayer time in America. Our country needs more than a political election – it needs a spiritual awakening! A great group of us joined…
Read More5 Things to Do When Others Fall
Sin brings heartbreak to lives, families, and churches. All of us grieve over the fall of people we have loved, and even some whom we have followed. Our response to the failure of others has implications for them, for us, and for the larger work of God. David, the man after God’s own heart, is one of the finest demonstrations of this principle in all of Scripture. King Saul, motivated by jealousy, had made David’s life very difficult. In 2…

Elijah | A Man Like Us In Times Like Ours These are days of political turmoil, economic uncertainty, natural disasters, moral confusion, social unrest, and spiritual lethargy. “It’s never been like this before!” Actually, it has. The historical books of the Bible are a tremendous reminder of the wicked times of previous generations and the men and women who stood faithfully for truth in the midst of them. Enter Elijah… Elijah was a man like us in times like ours. We…

Our Attitude Toward Those Who Fall We are all fallen creatures, living in a fallen world, and surrounded by other fallen people. The entrance of sin into the human race is rightly called “The Fall” because sin never lifts a man – it always causes a downward spiral away from God. Our entire world groans under the effects of the fall (Romans 8:22-23), and our only hope is Christ. Saved people still have a sin nature, and sometimes even God’s…
