This week a dear pastor friend and I corresponded about helpful books to share with others. As we near the end of the year I would challenge you to create a reading list for the next twelve months. Be intentional. Begin collecting the ones you do not have. Make a plan to read purposefully in the coming year.
I have always found it helpful to read on a variety of subjects and to read both older and newer books. With that in mind, I would like to recommend twelve older books and twelve newer books for you to consider. While I cannot give a blanket endorsement of every author, I can tell you that each of these books has made a profound impact on my life in some way. Perhaps they will be a blessing to you…

Happy reading!
Thank you for these. Often you will reference a book when you speak and it’s good to have a collective list! Good reading for the New Year.
Thank you for the recommendations! I would also add, “The Life of the Christian” by G. Campbell Morgan.
Morgan is one of my favorite authors. Thanks!
The Garments of Christ by Ian R. K. Paisley
Thanks!
Clovis G. Chappell “If I Were Young”
I was just reading something out of that recently! All of his books are great. Thanks so much.
Thanks for the good list Bro Scott! I saw where you listed “Tally Ho the Fox” by Herb Hodges. Someone gave me that to read a few years back. I can truly say that outside of Scripture, it is the most detailed and effective strategy book on fulfilling the Great Commission. Both personally and through the local church body. If someone feels their heart growing cold regarding evangelism and discipleship this will get that fire burning again! As always thanks my friend!
It is powerful for sure! Good to hear from you.
