The Voice: Our ETJ Host and A Brand New Podcast Announcement!, Greg Dowdy

Pastor Greg Dowdy

With some regularity, I am asked about the host on each of our Enjoying the Journey broadcasts. The “voice” that you hear in the intros and outros is my dear friend, Greg Dowdy. Greg and Becky were in school with us at Crown College and, for many years, he worked alongside my dad as an assistant pastor. They have been like family to our family for a quarter of a century.

Greg now pastors a vibrant church, Harvest Baptist of Owensboro, KY, where he and his family are being greatly used by the Lord. From the very beginning, he has had a great interest in the work that God has given us and has been a chief encourager. The Apostle Paul’s long list of “fellow laborers” is a wonderful example that sometimes the closest co-laborers are those who are distant geographically. We are bound together in Christ, a common burden for souls, and the truth of the Word.

When we began the daily program I wanted to find someone who not only had the voice to help communicate clearly with our audience, but the heart to labor with us. Greg has graciously been willing to serve in any way necessary. In addition to his busy schedule, Greg is always willing to record and collaborate with our team. I am truly grateful.

We are also thrilled to announce the launch of another ETJ podcast. Coming this summer, Greg will be sharing unique stories from great Christians in history, the stories behind well-loved songs and hymns, and much more. This brand new podcast, Traveler’s Tales, will air weekly. We trust it will provide a few moments of inspiration and instruction for your journey. Watch for more details in the days ahead and join Greg each Thursday starting in June. (Join our mailing list HERE.)

Every person’s voice is unique, and every voice was made to be used by God. Our voices are simply instruments for communicating and the greatest thing we ever share is God’s Word. John the Baptist said it best when he identified himself merely as a “voice.” Christ is the Word, and all of us should use our voice to point others to Him. Pray for us as we seek to further the Word and may God use you to speak to someone for Christ today.

A Fruitful Winter

Mattaniah was a descendant of Asaph (1 Chronicles 9:15) and one of the many Levites who labored in the Temple worship during Nehemiah's day. National thanksgiving was deeply personal for Mattaniah.
