2020 – NEW DEVOTIONAL PODCAST SERIES! January 6, 2020

1912-18-Journeys-of-the-Bible-SLIDE-768x492

If you have been traveling with us through the Word of God, thank you! If you have not yet joined us on this journey I would like to encourage you to begin today. We have just completed our second year of podcasts. (You may find the archive here.)

As we begin this third year of broadcasts we are returning to the theme of our studies – Enjoying The Journey. In a sad world, surrounded by brokenness and hurt, God’s people must rediscover the adventure of walking with God. Over the next few weeks we are going to look at “The Great Journeys Of The Bible” and learn the lasting truths that every traveler needs for the journey ahead.

I am very excited about studying the Scriptures with you and grateful for the good reports we continue to receive from listeners. You may subscribe on our host platform, Podbean, on Apple iTunes, Google Podcasts or your favorite podcast player. The daily broadcast is also available on our media player each day at enjoyingthejourney.org/broadcast/.

If you are being blessed by the broadcast you could help us by:

  • Leaving a rating and review of the broadcast on the platform where you listen. This simple support helps the podcast gain greater viewership.
  • Sharing the podcast with family and friends and encouraging them to join our Bible studies. Word of mouth is the best recommendation, but you can actually share the individual episodes via social media or a text message to those you are trying to encourage.
  • Donating to help us continue producing the programming and distributing it to others. (You may do so securely here.)
  • Praying for God’s favor and lasting fruit as we teach God’s Word.

Thank you for making Enjoying The Journey a part of your day. We would love to hear from you. You may email us at connect@enjoyingthejourney.org. Help us pray that 2020 would be a year of God’s blessing on this gospel work.

M’Cheyne’s Bible Reading Plan Each year I adopt some plan for my daily devotional reading of Scripture. To be honest, I try to vary this a little each year to keep it fresh. Over the last year, I have been using a plan that Robert Murray M’Cheyne developed for the people that he pastored. It is helpful for several reasons: It leads you through the Old Testament once and the New Testament and Psalms twice during the year. It gives a variety of Scripture passages to read each day - historical, prophetical, and devotional. It divides the readings into readings for the morning and for the evening. It promotes a reading for private devotions and one for family devotions. It encourages the church family to read through the Bible together. M’Cheyne’s heart was to strengthen families and the church family, while deepening the personal devotion of each Christian. I can tell you from personal experience, that it has been a delight to follow. (Read M'Cheyne's full introduction to his system HERE).  We have decided to make M’Cheyne’s plan available through Enjoying the Journey this year, with the prayer that God will use it to lead all of us to a life full of the Word in the days ahead. Download the interactive PDF.
