I Need Your Prayers Scott Pauley

Today I leave for a 10 day preaching trip. The Lord is helping us and we are seeing His hand. At the same time there is always spiritual warfare because everything God ordains, Satan opposes! The “great door” and the “many adversaries” always go together (1 Corinthians 16:9).

I know that I need the Lord as never before. And I need your prayers. Between revival meetings in Colorado and Georgia it is my privilege to preach the gospel at the God Bless America Rally in Canton, Ohio, on May 1-4. My friend Byron Foxx and I have been humbled to see the fervent prayers and diligent labor of God’s people from 16 sponsoring churches. The Lord is stirring some things in Northeast Ohio!

In the last few weeks they have already seen more than 60 souls profess faith in Christ through their gospel efforts. They have systematically gone to over 40,000 homes. 250,000 pieces of gospel literature are being distributed throughout Stark County, Ohio. There is a spirit of prayer and cooperation among the Lord’s people.

Pastors, fellow evangelists, people from all walks of life are getting involved. Will you join us?

  • Come if you can. Bring someone who needs Christ and let’s pray together that God will open their heart to the gospel. All meetings will be held at Canton Mckinley High School Auditorium | 2323 17th St. NW, Canton, OH 44708.
  • Share the good news. Through social media a much wider audience can be reached. You can find the God Bless America Rally on both Facebook and Instagram. Services will be live streamed at GodBlessAmericaRally.com each evening.
  • Pray. Pray. Pray. Pray for souls to be saved. Pray for God to bind the devil and every distraction. Pray for spiritual power. Pray for every laborer. Pray for fruit to remain. On Tuesday many of the workers are fasting and praying. We believe that God is at work and has much more He wants to accomplish. Would you consider taking a moment tomorrow in your Sunday School class or service to pray specifically with us for revival among God’s people and souls to be saved?

In a few days I look forward to sharing with you how the Lord has answered our prayers. Perhaps I will get to see you somewhere along the way! But one place I know we can meet is at the throne of God. Thank you for joining me there in prayer.

Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me” (Romans 15:30).

A journey through 1 John reveals our place in the family of God, how we can have assurance, and that our joy is rooted in Christ.

Journey through 1 John

“Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile! Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.” (John 1:47-48)

Why the Story of Nathanael Sitting Under the Fig Tree Matters

It also discusses the Four Sermons in Haggai It is in that context that God raises up the prophet Haggai with four sermons in four months. The Word of the Lord comes to Haggai, and he preaches four sermons. Each one of them is dated for us. Each sermon targets a different problem. You can read them in Haggai chapters one and two. In his first sermon (Haggai 1:1-15), Haggai preached on the danger of waiting when we should be working. They were waiting for a sign to build. He said, You don't need a sign, you need to obey God. Haggai's second sermon (Haggai 2:1-9) explained the danger of lamenting the past and missing the present. They were sorrowing over the destruction of the past temple. God said, Build a new one. It was G. Campbell Morgan who said, “It is impossible to unlock the present with the rusty key of the past." Many people are bogged down in their past and miss the present. Keep in mind what is at hand and what is ahead. The third sermon he preached (Haggai 2:10-19) described the danger of seeing only the material and neglecting the supernatural. They could see the work that needed to be done, but they missed the fact that God had resources that would help them get it done. The Lord was behind all of this. The fourth sermon (Haggai 2:20-23) warned against the danger of recognizing who is against us and forgetting who is for us. They were concentrating on the opposition and forgetting that “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). A journey through Haggai shows us the importance of performing the work that God has told us to do, and His glory in our obedience. Image leads to an overview of Haggai
