My Shortest Post Ever – 2 Words to Help You Today Scott Pauley

This is the time of year when so many people become sluggish. Schedules are hectic. The newness of the new year has worn off and the freshness of spring has not yet arrived. Weather is wearying. Illness is rampant. Christmas vacation has long since vanished and summer vacation seems far in the distance.

For all of you who have such thoughts and feelings (like we all do at times!) I share two simple words:

PRESS ON.

That’s it. Sometimes the greatest thing you do is simply put one foot in front of another. Be faithful. As the old retired marine in our church used to say, “Stay at your post of duty.”

PRESS ON.

God has His eye on you. His ear is open to your prayer. His hand is upon you. His arm is strong to carry you through. His thoughts are toward you. His heart is to “give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11).

God is not finished and neither are you. Don’t quit before the breakthrough! Seasons come and go. This too shall pass.

PRESS ON.

The purpose of Bible memory and how to practice it. God wrote a memory Book! This is what the Word of God was given for: to help us remember what God wants us to remember and what we are so prone to forget. Scripture memory is frequently emphasized to children and young people, but sorely neglected as we get older. Yet this is the time when God's Word most needs to be reinforced and rehearsed! Hebrews 2:1 says, "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."
