Christmas Blessings December 13, 2019

1911-28-Christmas-Blessings-SLIDE-768x492 (1)

This is my favorite season of the year! I love the time with family and friends. But the older I get the more I realize that the greatest Christmas blessings are the ones that are wrapped up in Christ. Ones that are priceless and that do not change with the calendar. It is what Paul celebrated when he wrote to Philemon about, “acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ” (Philemon 6).

The gift is Christ! The blessings are spiritual. As we study the Word of God we open those gifts, or rather, they are opened to us by the Holy Spirit. At this busiest time of the year beware of living so much in the fray and hurry that you miss the joy and peace that is in Jesus. “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2).

Beginning Monday on Enjoying The Journey we will be studying some of the portions of Scripture connected to the coming of Christ. I believe they will be a help to your faith and an encouragement to your soul. When we open the Word of God we are opening God’s greatest gifts! Plan to join us on the podcast for the last twelve episodes of the year.

From the Pauley family and all of those who help us with Enjoying The Journey we pray God’s greatest blessings on you and your family this Christmas…
