Our August Itinerary and an Update on the Family July 21, 2016

God has been very gracious during this summer season. We have seen much fruit in many places. Please help us pray that the fruit will remain to the glory of God. It has been a special blessing to see so many friends across the country.

The upcoming month will be a very busy one for our family. In addition to the meetings we will be relocating to Beckley, West Virginia. Just this week the Lord sold our home here in Knoxville and we are working out details for our move in the next few weeks. Thank you for praying for all of us during this transition.

IMG_1106It has been a joy to live and serve in Knoxville for over twenty years. Tammy and I believe that this move is of God. Our children will have the opportunity to be near grandparents and other family when I am away from them. My dad pastors the Cranberry Baptist Church in Beckley and they will serve as our sending church. Of course, we have mixed emotions as we leave so many friends and the church home we love, but it is exciting to be following the Lord. The adventure continues.

Please pray for our meetings during the month of August and come be with us if you can…

What Can We Learn From Jonah?

The King Herod who built the Herodium is the same Herod who tried to kill Jesus, and ordered the slaughter of the babies in nearby Bethlehem. He knew his subjects hated him, so before he died, he provided for his tomb to be guarded after his death. After a couple of years, the money ran out so the guards went home. The vengeful locals trashed his palace and smashed his ornate mausoleum to tiny pieces.

The altar of sacrifice in front of the holy of holies in Arad. Even though it is a smaller imitation, the temple here gives the visitor an idea of how the Temple in Jerusalem appeared.
