Journey To The Land Of The Bible With Us! May 14, 2019

Have you ever thought you would like to study the Bible in the very places where it all happened? Just this week I read devotionally the account of Moses looking over into the Promised Land from Mt. Pisgah. I recalled what it was like for me, several years ago, standing in that same mountain range looking over into Israel. That Scripture has a whole new perspective for me now! Visiting the land of the Bible will help open the Bible to you.

I am excited to announce that next year Tammy and I will be taking a group to Israel. This is a tour we have prayed much about and worked toward for some time. We are being accompanied by Pastor and Mrs. Tim Butler. The Butlers have led many tours through the years and have worked out all of the logistics for us. This is going to be a wonderful trip with friends and we hope you will join us.

We will leave on Monday, November 30, 2020 (the Monday after Thanksgiving) and return on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. This ten day tour will include round trip airfare from New York, beautiful hotels in both Galilee and Jerusalem, breakfast and dinner each day, private motor coach transportation, all taxes, and a professional guide to all of the sights. The cost is $3,398 per person and there is an early-bird discount if you pay your deposit by March 2020. You can find more detail and view the daily itinerary here.

You will see Manger Square in Bethlehem at Christmas time, take a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee, have a worship service by the Pool of Bethesda, pray in the Garden of Gethsemane, visit Calvary and the empty tomb, and much more. Our space is limited and a number of people have already expressed their desire to go. If you are interested in reserving your spot you may contact:

Please let me know if I can help in any way. I look forward to looking at God’s Word with you as we look at each of the biblical sites. What a great time we are going to have! We would love to have you “enjoy the journey” with us…

M’Cheyne’s Bible Reading Plan Each year I adopt some plan for my daily devotional reading of Scripture. To be honest, I try to vary this a little each year to keep it fresh. Over the last year, I have been using a plan that Robert Murray M’Cheyne developed for the people that he pastored. It is helpful for several reasons: It leads you through the Old Testament once and the New Testament and Psalms twice during the year. It gives a variety of Scripture passages to read each day - historical, prophetical, and devotional. It divides the readings into readings for the morning and for the evening. It promotes a reading for private devotions and one for family devotions. It encourages the church family to read through the Bible together. M’Cheyne’s heart was to strengthen families and the church family, while deepening the personal devotion of each Christian. I can tell you from personal experience, that it has been a delight to follow. (Read M'Cheyne's full introduction to his system HERE).  We have decided to make M’Cheyne’s plan available through Enjoying the Journey this year, with the prayer that God will use it to lead all of us to a life full of the Word in the days ahead. Download the interactive PDF.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof” (Proverbs 18:21).  Weighing less than two ounces, the tongue is one of the smallest members of the human body. Yet it has such power.
