Thank God For The Shepherds! March 29, 2020

Shepherd, Pastor, church leaders

In crisis hours we are all reminded of what is most important in life, and who truly watches for our souls. We are all living through a season that reminds us of the importance of the local church. This season will pass but the church remains. Christ is building His church even now! He is purifying it. The gates of hell will not prevail against it. You can count on that!

In good times and bad believers need one another. We need the church. Sheep need to be led and fed. This is why the Good Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ, calls under-shepherds to care for the flock.

Though schedules have come to a screeching halt pastors are working harder than ever. True shepherds are always on the watch for the enemy and looking out for their flock. I have spoken with so many pastors in the last few days who are passionate about doing whatever it takes to minister in these trying times. Thank God for the shepherds!

We all appreciate the health care workers who are on the front lines of the health crisis in our world. But when did you last thank God for the “soul workers” who are on the front lines of the spiritual battle at all times?

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you” (Hebrews 13:17).

On this Lord’s day I hope you will take a moment to thank the Lord and thank your pastor. Thank God for the shepherds!

Thank the Lord for pastors feeding through livestreaming services for us in the flock. Watched my pastor and then my son-in-law preaching this morning. Separate churches, great messages.
