My Favorite Chapter of the Bible

Do you have a favorite portion of Scripture?

One of my Bible teachers used to say that his favorite passage of Scripture was the one he was studying at the time. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable…” (2 Timothy 3:16). Jesus said it this way, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

Every word. We need it all. And yet at specific places along life’s path, you will find that particular Scriptures take on special meaning. Some of those will stay with you for a lifetime.

Philippians 3 is my favorite chapter of the Bible. When I was just a teenager, God began to use these powerful verses in my life. Twenty-five years later, they minister to me in an even deeper way.

The Word of God is wonderful that way. It is like a rich mine that you never exhaust. A deep well that never runs dry.

Today on the “Enjoying the Journey” podcast, we begin to walk through Philippians 3. I look forward to sharing the truths God has been teaching me and would love to have you join me in this study. The first episode is now available, and a new 10-minute broadcast is posted daily.

There are several ways to join the study:

God has so much to teach us all from this wonderful chapter. It may just become one of your favorites, too! Join me at Philippians 3:1 today…

Mattaniah was a descendant of Asaph (1 Chronicles 9:15) and one of the many Levites who labored in the Temple worship during Nehemiah's day. National thanksgiving was deeply personal for Mattaniah.
