Truly God is good…it is good for me to draw near to God” (Ps. 73:1, 28).

In these unusual days I am reminded that God is good, and that it is good for me to stay as close to Him as possible! Thank you for continuing to pray for us as we seek to fulfill the call of God to preach the gospel, teach the Bible, encourage churches, and help pastors. We sense your prayers and see answers to them every day.

This month has been full of drive-in meetings, recorded messages, and online services. These are unique times! You may be interested in watching some of the messages given for churches across the country. They are available on our new YouTube channel.

On Monday, June 1, we will be making a special announcement related to the work God has given us to do. It is a definite answer to prayer and a next step for us. I am so excited to share it with you. Please watch your email inbox or our Twitter or Facebook posts for more information next week.

Below is our June preaching schedule. These are in person meetings. God willing, we will continue to do as many online services as possible where it is helpful to churches. I am excited that between meetings this month we are able to take a little time to get away with our family. Lauren will join Morgan at college this fall and we are enjoying these opportunities while we have them.

Please pray with us for these meetings:

Monday-Wednesday, June 1-3 – Revival, Pickerington Baptist Temple, Pickerington, OH, Pastor B.J. VanAman

Sunday, June 7 – Morning Services, Sycamore Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Alkol, WV, Pastor Jody Pauley

Sunday, June 14 – Morning and Evening Services, West Virginia Jubilee, Teays Valley Baptist Church, Hurricane, WV, Pastor John Smith

Sunday, June 21 – Morning Service, Beacon Baptist Church, Jupiter, FL, Pastor Jim Blalock

Sunday, June 28 – Morning Services, Grace Baptist Church, Fayetteville, WV, Pastor Jim Mitchell

Sunday, June 28 – Evening Service, Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church, Ripley, WV, Pastor Jeff Keffer

***Originally I was scheduled to be at The Wilds and Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp during the month of June. These camps are not able to meet due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Please pray for camp ministries across the country this year and for the young people that would have been in these meetings.

Great Expectations

Great Expectations

In antiquity, Pella in Macedonia was a major metropolis. Alexander the Great was born here. Nearby you can visit the intact tombs of his ancestors. Photo by John Buckner. In New Testament times, Macedonia was the region in the north of Greece and is estimated to have had a population of 1.5 million people. Thessalonica was the major city, but the region had other cities such as Philippi and Berea. The province housed the boyhood home of Alexander the Great, and the great road, the Via Egnatia, crossed it. The Roman province of Macedonia extended beyond the boundaries of the old kingdom of Macedonia all the way to the Aegean Sea.

Journey through 3 John

God wants us to do more than hear His Word. He wants us to be obedient to it, doing the work that He has called us to do.
