An Open Letter To Our Friends Scott Pauley

Dear Friend,

These are challenging and exciting days to be serving the Lord Jesus. The need of our world is great and Christ is coming soon! We are praying that this year’s Southwide Baptist Fellowship will encourage and equip God’s servants to press on with even greater intensity. Our theme for 2021 comes from Hebrews 10:25, “…and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

On October 11-13 we will gather at Beacon Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC for great fellowship, prayer, and the preaching of God’s Word. Each evening we will emphasize a call to action from Hebrews 10:

  • Monday – “Let us draw near”
  • Tuesday – “Let us hold fast”
  • Wednesday – “Let us exhort one another”

Will you plan to join us for three exciting days? You may find the full schedule and list of speakers at southwidebaptist.org. It would be a great blessing to us to know you are coming. Please register today at southwidebaptist.org/register. We look forward to seeing you this fall in Raleigh.

Yours in Christ,
Evangelist Scott Pauley, Moderator
Pastor Tim Rabon, Vice-Moderator/Host Pastor

P.S. Our friends at Faith Music are doing something very special for all who register during the month of July. Register this week and receive a free, 3-month subscription to the entire Faith Music Catalog through their streaming app.

Within the text, John opens and closes his thoughts with the idea of "believeth." Sandwiched between are details concerning being "born of God"; conversion, compassion, conduct, and conquest. These details give clarity to three aspects of the Christian life: faith, love, and obedience. When present, they testify to the validity that one has been "born of God."

The word for wilderness is “meedbar,” (מדבר). This word is spelled exactly the same in the Hebrew text as “he speaks, or I speak.” He speaks/I speak is written the same (מדבר) but pronounced differently “meh-dah-ber.” Ancient readers of the Hebrew Bible saw these words and linked them in their minds. Therefore, the wilderness must be the place where He speaks to you. The spectacular cliffs of Sede Boger in the south of Israel near Beersheba. It has been identified by some scholars with the Wilderness of Zin, which is mentioned in several places in Numbers and Deuteronomy. It is a popular destination for modern hikers and climbers.
