2 Resources for More Bible Preaching December 31, 2021

2112-30 Weekend Pulpit SLIDE_16x9

…they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.” (Acts 8:4)

If ever there was a time for more preaching, it is now. As we look around, we see more confusion and deception than ever before. All around us there is a spiritual drought, and now is the time to unleash the life-giving water of God’s Word.

At Enjoying the Journey we strongly believe in the teaching and preaching of the Scriptures to transform hearts and lives to the glory of God. We are thrilled to announce these additional resources for the new year.

TEMPLE MESSAGES

On Tuesdays we currently share a Bible message from recent evangelistic meetings. In 2022 we will begin adding another video message to our YouTube channel every Thursday. For nearly 20 years Scott Pauley served with Pastor Clarence Sexton at The Temple Baptist Church and Crown College in Powell, Tennessee. While serving there, he was frequently given the opportunity to preach. Each Thursday one of the messages given during that season of ministry will be posted. We hope they are a blessing and challenge to you. Watch for the first one next week.

THE WEEKEND PULPIT

Many of you listen to the Enjoying the Journey devotional podcast each Monday through Friday. We are now making available a full-length Bible message every Saturday on our Enjoying the Journey broadcast channel. We are thrilled at the favor God has given and the many people around the world who are studying God’s Word with us. From time to time, in addition to messages from Brother Pauley, we will also hear messages from other Bible preachers that have been a blessing to the ministry. The weekend pulpit begins tomorrow with a special series of messages from the book of Philippians. Be sure to listen and share them with others.

We trust that these resources will help you in your journey with Jesus. Scripture reminds us that “…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” It is our prayer that all of our faith will grow in the days ahead. May the Lord bless you and your family in the new year!

What Can We Learn From Jonah?

The King Herod who built the Herodium is the same Herod who tried to kill Jesus, and ordered the slaughter of the babies in nearby Bethlehem. He knew his subjects hated him, so before he died, he provided for his tomb to be guarded after his death. After a couple of years, the money ran out so the guards went home. The vengeful locals trashed his palace and smashed his ornate mausoleum to tiny pieces.

The altar of sacrifice in front of the holy of holies in Arad. Even though it is a smaller imitation, the temple here gives the visitor an idea of how the Temple in Jerusalem appeared.
