Meet the Holy Spirit September 5, 2023

How well do you know the Holy Spirit? Many live their entire Christian life with the Spirit of God within, and yet fail to understand how He works in and through the believer. A true and growing knowledge of God includes knowledge of all three members of the Godhead – the Father, the Son, and the Spirit!

Like all spiritual truth, our understanding of the Holy Spirit must be rooted, not in our subjective experience, but in God’s eternal Word. The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself. If you want to know the Spirit, you must meet Him in the Scriptures.

God is a Spirit” (John 4:24) and “no man hath seen God at any time” (John 1:18). Our understanding of the Holy Spirit does not come through physical sight; it comes through the eye of faith and the lens of the Word. In both the Old and New Testaments the Lord gives a variety of symbols which represent the person and work of His Spirit.

Our new Enjoying the Journey series begins next week, and I would like to invite you to join us as we open God’s inspired picture Book and see the Spirit in the Scriptures. Each symbol will give us yet another glimpse of the invisible God. Follow the new study on your favorite podcast player or at enjoyingthejourney.org.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” – John 14:26
