A Testimony from Pakistan Chase Whitten

We deeply appreciate people praying and asking God for souls to be saved during this gospel mission to Pakistan. My heart was stirred, challenged, and grieved to see a country immersed in darkness. We ministered in six different desert villages and five churches. Several people indicated they were turning to the Lord for salvation, and at a youth rally, many yielded their lives to become servants of Christ.
Below are a few “Travel Thoughts” I’ve been mulling over since returning:
  • Let’s remain vigilant and not be swayed by the biased agenda of news media. Instead, we should focus on taking advantage of the opportunities that God grants us. Don’t let the fear-mongering declarations of the unbelieving or faithless Christians lead to wilderness wanderings in your mind or actions. Stay focused!
  • More great commission work would be done in our own country if we took more cross-cultural mission trips, increasing our faith, tenderness towards souls, and awareness of eternity.
  • Just imagine for a moment; take your understanding of God’s Word and consider, “What if YOU were born in a Muslim Country?” Wouldn’t you want someone to tell you about Jesus – considering all you know right now!? May God help us to get the Gospel to all people.
  • When this trip hit my radar, my heart was humbled. I’ve never prayed specifically for laborers in Pakistan, but praise God they are there! Will you adopt a foreign country and pray for laborers, souls to be saved, and God’s work to flourish? While you pray, ask God for an opportunity to go!
  • Some young men got together and purchased me a wristwatch while I was in Pakistan. They presented it to me at our last breakfast together, and it brought tears to my eyes. I looked at it and thought this reminds us that we don’t have much time left, and the clock doesn’t stop. Just as the watch was their gift to me, so time is God’s gift to all of us. Are we investing our time or wasting it? Killed time cannot be resurrected.
For the majority of professing Christians living in the USA, the only thing they know about sacrifice is how to spell it. It is imperative that we divorce ourselves from casual Christianity and live as it is stated in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

Mathematically, it is impossible that one man could fulfill so many unique prophecies, many of which were related to the actions of others toward him. How can you orchestrate your death in such a specific manner i.e. By crucifixion (not invented) between criminals, being given vinegar to drink while dying, being killed at the hands of the Gentiles, after being betrayed by your dear friend? These are a fraction of the hundreds of such prophecies Jesus fulfilled. It is only possible if that Man was the God-man - Jesus Christ. Our Approach The prophecies in our list are many of those connected to the circumstances, surroundings, characteristics, events, manners, and traits that the Lord Jesus fulfilled during His earthly ministry. It is by no means comprehensive but serves as a reference and devotional guide to those seeking the Lord Jesus. Types and figures have been omitted, for they are woven throughout the entirety of Scripture. Truly, every part of the Written Word points to the Word made flesh, Who dwelt among us (John 1:14). We trust this list of 55 prophecies about the first coming of Christ will serve to demonstrate the total confidence you can have that Jesus is the Messiah, the Redeemer, The Son of God.
