A New Season and Our October Itinerary Scott Pauley

My favorite season has arrived. Fall is officially here. This year our family is celebrating the changing of the leaves in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. It is a new season of life and ministry.

So many of you have prayed and encouraged us this year. Thank you for your friendship. A few days ago I had the privilege of preaching at Cranberry Baptist Church in Beckley. This is the church my dad has pastored for the last twenty-six years, and the church that first sent me off to Crown College over twenty-two years ago. It is an honor to have them now serving as our sending church.

Tammy, Morgan, Lauren, Grant, and I are honored to be part of the ministry at the Cranberry Baptist Church. The precious friends here have made us feel right at home. We are truly grateful for their prayers and support as we fulfill God’s calling for our family.

Many churches have encouraged us along this journey and our desire is to be an encouragement to His work in every place. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will use us in this season. We look forward to being with God’s people over the next few weeks…

When Onesimus was thrown in jail, Paul shared with him the glorious message of forgiveness and mercy in Jesus Christ. Onesimus becoame a believer as well. Imagine his shock when he found out the man who had just led him to the Lord Jesus Christ also showed his master (Philemon) how to be saved. Further, they are dear friends! The purpose of Bible memory and how to practice it. God wrote a memory Book! This is what the Word of God was given for: to help us remember what God wants us to remember and what we are so prone to forget. Scripture memory is frequently emphasized to children and young people, but sorely neglected as we get older. Yet this is the time when God's Word most needs to be reinforced and rehearsed! Hebrews 2:1 says, "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."
