Crossing Another Mile Marker Scott Pauley

Mile Marker, Joy in the Bible, Joy, Happiness, Joy in Scripture, how to have Joy, Jesus brings joy

  Crossing Another Mile Marker

On a recent trip, we were traveling with several vehicles. Over the course of time and in the midst of traffic we eventually became spaced out. It was helpful to communicate with one another what mile marker we each were at so that we could keep up with one another!
We are journeying through Scripture with so many of you and it is a wonderful trip. This week I have met so many people who are listening to the daily studies and they have been a great encouragement to me. Not everyone is on the same “mile marker” so I thought it would be helpful to let you know where I am – and where we are going next.
  • Today we conclude our extended study on Spiritual Stories: The Parables Jesus Told and Their Application to Us. The time spent in Jesus’ parables has influenced my personal walk and I hope they will continue to be a help to you. Please take the time to listen to the concluding episode called “My Takeaways.” (Like all of our series, We archive each episode for future study at enjoyingthejourney.org/broadcast.)
  • Thursday is July 4. As we celebrate the Independence of our nation, we give God praise for His mercy and pray for divine intervention in these perilous days. A special ETJ edition will be available. It is an “off” day for many people as they spend time with family. I would encourage you to listen together to tomorrow’s study: “Pray for Nero.”
  • Friday will be a very unique broadcast and a rare, informal conversation with our listeners. I look forward to sharing several exciting things God is doing. We are also announcing a new interactive feature for the podcast that I trust will be a blessing to many. Don’t miss this episode!
  • Saturday we continue our Weekend Pulpit series in 1 Corinthians 10. This sermon series began last week and comes from a recent meeting in Michigan.
  • Monday we start a brand new series on JOY! For the next several weeks we are going to walk through the Old and New Testaments to discover the secret to the joy of the Lord. These are miserable days for many people, but God’s people can have His joy! I hope you will join me as we dig into both the principle and provision of divine joy.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement. It is a privilege to be a fellow traveler with you on our journey and I look forward to the day we all get to sit down together at the Father’s house.

Samson and The Sorek Valley

Mathematically, it is impossible that one man could fulfill so many unique prophecies, many of which were related to the actions of others toward him. How can you orchestrate your death in such a specific manner i.e. By crucifixion (not invented) between criminals, being given vinegar to drink while dying, being killed at the hands of the Gentiles, after being betrayed by your dear friend? These are a fraction of the hundreds of such prophecies Jesus fulfilled. It is only possible if that Man was the God-man - Jesus Christ. Our Approach The prophecies in our list are many of those connected to the circumstances, surroundings, characteristics, events, manners, and traits that the Lord Jesus fulfilled during His earthly ministry. It is by no means comprehensive but serves as a reference and devotional guide to those seeking the Lord Jesus. Types and figures have been omitted, for they are woven throughout the entirety of Scripture. Truly, every part of the Written Word points to the Word made flesh, Who dwelt among us (John 1:14). We trust this list of 55 prophecies about the first coming of Christ will serve to demonstrate the total confidence you can have that Jesus is the Messiah, the Redeemer, The Son of God.
