A Pause, Our Podcast, And The Next Psalms Scott Pauley

Yesterday we concluded the first stage of our journey through the Psalms. The Genesis Psalms, Psalm 1-41, help us to see God as the beginning of all good things. I have greatly enjoyed the trip so far!

Today we take a brief stop before continuing our journey. Along the path of life sometimes the Lord orchestrates rest stops, detours, and brief side trips. I am learning that these are purposeful and help to prepare you for the road ahead.

One of the psalms we have just studied reminds us, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way” (Psalm 37:25). George Mueller said as he meditated on this verse the Holy Spirit reminded him that both his steps and his stops are ordered by the Lord! The same God who says, “Go forward,” may also say, “Stand still.”

We have experienced this in recent weeks in our world. It is as if God reached over the balcony of heaven and pushed the “pause” button on our world! Have you learned to enjoy the divine pauses in life?

I feel the Lord’s prompting to take a brief pause in our podcast series. For the next couple of days I would like to talk to you about “The Christian and His Country.” These are perilous times in our world and pivotal days in our nation. I hope you will look at God’s Word with me to see what the Lord says to us about our responsibility as Christian citizens. Over the next few months we will talk more about this subject.

Next week we will go forward on our journey through the Psalms. The Exodus Psalms, Psalm 42-72, teach us to remember our Redeemer, but more on that later. Thank you for taking time to read my ramblings and thank you for listening each day to the program. I look forward to making the journey with you…

Enjoying the Journey,

Mathematically, it is impossible that one man could fulfill so many unique prophecies, many of which were related to the actions of others toward him. How can you orchestrate your death in such a specific manner i.e. By crucifixion (not invented) between criminals, being given vinegar to drink while dying, being killed at the hands of the Gentiles, after being betrayed by your dear friend? These are a fraction of the hundreds of such prophecies Jesus fulfilled. It is only possible if that Man was the God-man - Jesus Christ. Our Approach The prophecies in our list are many of those connected to the circumstances, surroundings, characteristics, events, manners, and traits that the Lord Jesus fulfilled during His earthly ministry. It is by no means comprehensive but serves as a reference and devotional guide to those seeking the Lord Jesus. Types and figures have been omitted, for they are woven throughout the entirety of Scripture. Truly, every part of the Written Word points to the Word made flesh, Who dwelt among us (John 1:14). We trust this list of 55 prophecies about the first coming of Christ will serve to demonstrate the total confidence you can have that Jesus is the Messiah, the Redeemer, The Son of God.
