Monday is a special day of remembrance across our nation as we reflect on those who have given their lives to protect our liberty. For a Christian, every celebration should be a rededication. We must not only enjoy the blessings that have come to us, we must seek the Lord for ourselves and our generation. It is not just liberty that we need – it is revival!

On this coming Tuesday evening we are having a special prayer rally in Beckley, WV. If you are within driving distance we would love to have you join us for this time in the Word of God and prayer for souls. The fellowship with believers from many churches will be refreshing and we are trusting the Lord to send a real revival to our region.

Brother Foxx and I are enjoying laboring with the pastors as we work toward the God Bless America Rally, September 10-12. More details on the meeting may be found at GodBlessAmericaRally.com. Here are a few helpful details for this week’s gathering:

  • The prayer rally begins Tuesday, June 1, 7 pm in Anderson Hall on the campus of Appalachian Bible College, 161 College Drive, Mt. Hope, WV 25880.
  • Choir members (and those who would like to join!) should come at 6:30 for a choir rehearsal.
  • Children ages 5 through the 6th grade will meet in the gymnasium with a great team of workers. They will have a nerf war and an exciting rally while parents are in the prayer rally. Children will be well supervised.

In a nation that is in turmoil we must have God’s people “…stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27).

Would you join us Tuesday night?

What Can We Learn From Jonah?

The King Herod who built the Herodium is the same Herod who tried to kill Jesus, and ordered the slaughter of the babies in nearby Bethlehem. He knew his subjects hated him, so before he died, he provided for his tomb to be guarded after his death. After a couple of years, the money ran out so the guards went home. The vengeful locals trashed his palace and smashed his ornate mausoleum to tiny pieces.
